I'm Kristin
Master of Social Work - UNC Chapel Hill
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology - Simmons University
As a queer person of color, I am deeply committed to co-creating spaces
that are LGBTQIA+ affirming & anti-racist. I know how important these
spaces are, & how difficult they can be to access. I provide individual
psychotherapy to adults and have eight years of clinical experience; five
years of experience providing therapy.
Most of my work has been supporting predominantly queer and trans clients and
people of color, adoptees, & larger-bodied clients. My work with clients primarily
draws from liberation psychology and mindfulness. I also bring my values of
anti-oppression, Health at Every Size, and Disability Justice to my work.
My therapy style is primarily relational, and combines narrative &
feminist techniques to support clients in understanding their stories &
embracing being an expert in their own lives. I have extensive training in
Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and
Motivational Interviewing. I also have training in Somatic Experiencing
and Internal Family Systems. What this means is that my approach is
holistic and it utilizes the mind-body connection. I look forward to
meeting you!
